Bangalore Metro Trains

The government has come out with a fresh date for the much-awaited Bangalore Metro launch. Phase-1 from Byappanahalli to M G Road will start on April 4. Full project will cover a total of 42.30 km with 41 stations. It will be completed in four phases:

  1. Reach-1: Byyappanahalli to M.G Road ( by March 2011).
  2. Reach-2: Magadi Road to Mysore Road Terminal (by 2013) .
  3. Reach-3: Swastik to Yeshwanthpur (by April 2012).
  4. Reach-4: K R Road to Puttenahalli (by 2013).

Bangalore Metro Train Route

Metro track will be having two tracks:

1. East-West corridor (18km)

2. North-South corridor. (24km)

East-West corridor (18.10 km long, travel time :33 minutes )

Ticket and pass system :

BMTC and BMRCL will provide combined passes also. These passes will be introduced after the induction of an automated ticketing system in BMTC. The MBT (Metro Bus Transit pass) is valid for a day and comes with a code for reading into the machines at the entrance of Metro stations.

Ticket will be awailable in the four forms:
